About Me

My photo
DisAbility Advocates/Consultants
For twenty years, I worked as an educator in the field of special education. My B.A. is in Education of the Hearing Impaired. My M.A. is in Administration with a concentration in Supervision and Curriculum. For the first half of my career, I taught children who were deaf and deaf/blind. I loved the children but I saw what the schools were not providing. Then I went into administration to try to change the schools. That experience was rather like watching sausage being made. Scary. At the same time, I had one child of my own with serious disabilities and could not get the schools to provide the services he needed. So, in 1997, I went to law school. I received my J.D. in 2000 from St. Mary's University School of Law. Now, I represent children with special needs who are not receiving a free and appropriate public education. Two advocates work with me and together, we plan to change the way the districts think about our students with special needs--one child at a time. Come join us in our pursuits and share what you have learned with us. We are here to help each other.
